“If Trump were black, we would call him a thug.” So says CNN commentator Van Jones.
On Thursday, Twitter chimed in with more thoughts on how the Republican presidential nominee would behave and be treated by the public at large if he were African-American with the hashtag #IfTrumpWereBlack. While some tweets reinforced harmful and ignorant stereotypes of the black community, others highlighted how Trump has only gotten so far in his campaign because of the privileges that comes with being white, rich and famous.
