Emmy Winner Courtney B. Vance Says Film Should Take A Cue From TV

On Sunday night, Courtney B. Vance walked away with the Emmy award for Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for “The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story” on FX.

There’s no question that TV is having a moment right now with the growth of streaming, the popularity of binge-watching and the expansion of roles. The Huffington Post chatted with Vance on the red carpet at the 68th annual Emmy Awards, and he couldn’t agree more.

“It’s all about the writing and the writing I think is intelligent,” he said. “I think the writers follow it ― the actors follow the writers. And when the actors are there, the directors certainly come. I think it’s all about the writing, and I think film is going to take a cue from what’s happening here in television.”
